I recently attended a talk at Excalibur restaurant in Glastonbury, by Matt Thornton.
Matt is the founding director of the non-profit organisation Emoto Peace Project of UK and Ireland, and water researcher trained by Dr Emoto Masaru.
The talk was about the most simple subject: water.
And listening to Matt, I discovered I know nothing about it!
So many little pieces of information have come to me recently about the state of the world, spirituality and how humanity is living today (many of which I have written about on this website), and Matt's talk seemed to bring it all in together.
I realised that the fundamental answer to life, the universe and everything is in fact: water.
I immediately booked Matt in for an interview, and here is what he has to say...
Matt Thornton discusses two things: energy and water,
and how they are intrinsically connected.
A student of Emoto, he has seen first hand that water is directly affected by language and intention. Emotos' research showed that when water crystals are shown different words, and photographed to show their reaction to these words: they create mandalas, the quality of which depends on the quality of the words spoken and the intent behind them. Or more accurately their vibration is known as HADO (although this has a deeper meaning).
The photo below shows the same water crystal before and after it was shown the words ''love and gratitude''. How much more beautiful and perfect is the image after these pure and high vibrational words are shown to the water?
Why does this happen?
Matt describes how the human larynx is a masterpiece of engineering that can create any sound in the universe.
All major religions state that ''in the beginning was the word'', and it is from this that all creation began.
When humans talk in their unconscious state, they create distorted vibrations (i.e noise) and the energy behind it does not flow in geometric patterns. Matt highlights for me the theories of Dr David Hawkins. The energy behind the word is the underlying emotion of the person, so if the emotion is suppressed, words become harmful. There are three ways this happens:
1: suppressed and repressed emotion leads to violence and warfare.
2: projecting the emotion onto others causes breakdown in relationships.
3: escaping the emotion is the underlying reason for the entertainment industry, drug abuse and our attitude to sex: humanity trying to avoid looking at ourselves.
What does this have to do with water?
Matt suggests that the story of water is a love story. Lack of Love, or Pollution is a mental disease contributed by our thought systems: emotions such as hatred and grudge cause discordant viruses and bad quality water. Emoto stated: ''Water teaches us how to live life'': it does not have a belief system, it just is- its very zen! Negative words exhaust water. If you look at the way water flows, and then through any pollution or toxins the flow breaks down. The combination of drinking water infused with toxins, and our emotions could affect the way water and hence energy flows throughout the body, disrupting our sense organs. How we currently clean our water may be described as chemically pure, yet it's flow and ability to carry information (or hado) is disturbed. Emoto uses the word 'HADO': the information carried in light and sound. If water is polluted, its ability to carry HADO is disturbed or the HADO itself is the disturbing influence causing the pollution.
With Professor Pollack leading the New Science of Water he states that anything unnatural will stop waters' ability to hold charge. We discuss Fracking (which will cause 600 chemicals to be pumped underground and into water systems, the cocktail of which itself an horrific pollution before it even hits the water table.) and Matt sums it up nicely: and quotes from Victor Schauberger: If we lower the fundamental building block of life what happens to the life force essential for growth, how the human body cope with one toxin let alone all those toxins as we see waters incredible sensitivity to its environment? The human brain is 95% water: the instrument of thought is the wettest organ. So if the quality of water is lowered, what happens to our quality of thought? There will come a time when we won't be able to think our way out of the problems we created. Then we are stuck with the one and only real problem we have on this planet: we don't think! Quality of water is essential.
''We can't call ourselves a civilised race if we pollute
the water we drink and the air we breathe.''
- Quote by a North American elder
The possibility of pollution would not happen at all if we really understood what water is. The mismanagement of water and the need to understand the need to protect its quality is the biggest environmental issue we have. This is due to our complete lack of understanding of water: we simply don't know what it is, but we are beginning to.
So what is it?
Answer: no one truly knows!
Well for a start: it's not just the mechanistic for mauls H2O we've been led to believe. Scientist Professor Pollock is leading this New Science of studying water, and wants to get his research out to millions. When he began he was told not to study water: it's dangerous, due to various debacles over the last century and is as such is bad for the reputation. There have been no major scientific breakthroughs in science in the last 30-40 years, and so many scientists around the world are coming together to change this. They now looking to conduct Independent research through independent funding keeping it out of the traditional sources or mainstream. Scientists are looking at water through many lenses including wellness and the cosmos. We will understand what water is, how important it is to us, and eventually it will become mainstream knowledge.
''Water teaches you everything:
about life, existence, language, consciousness, purpose.''
Listening to Matts' talk last night, this is what struck me the most. His words ran deep into my soul and I could feel the truth of this: water is everything, it holds the answers to everything. It's a mediator between nature, the cosmos, and ourselves.
Water takes you back to primordial creation of universe, it is very ancient, no one knows how it got here: maybe it was already here?
Matt tells me how it all began for him...
''I didn't know anything about water. I just drank one bottle of water and it blew me away.''
The water was from Canada, and it took him 1000 times above clarity in his thinking. Within 30 seconds he was peeing! He gave it to others and the same happened: what was this water doing? It was municipal water clinically treated and optimally charged: there is clinical science behind it. Top Olympic athletes drank it and found amazing results, people who were tuned into their bodies knew the difference immediately. Matt describes how this water literally took away every obstacle in his thinking. Many things around you lower the levels of consciousness: environment, noises, alcohol, food, books, the company you keep. He says it took him to a place so ancient, or vaguely remembered from when he was very young: an indescribable place!
Matt is 49 now and now seems to be working out his life's journey and purpose. At age 25 he was a military pilot flying fighter jets and he loved it! (He still flies commercial planes part time). However, through various experiences he found himself in a dark place, the dark night of the soul for about 7 years until after a 6 month period of civilian life and studies discovering the Art of Tai Chi and learning how energy moves he found a deep sense of inner stillness and Peace. Having to back into the AirForce it plunged him back into a state of darkness where it's purpose was misaligned to the Truth with an existence of extremes. The battles he was trained to fight were just metaphoric reflections of those we face internally. After his time in the military Matt had no interest to discuss his military roles for about 6 years. Travelling to India and Tibet to find a cave to sit in only to find they were all full with other such seekers. In the last 3-4 years he has embraced his past and sees it as his training, existing more as a "peaceful warrior.'' These experiences taught him about war and the abstract awareness of peace.
Everything he is doing has an education aspect for all people. In his talks he can adapt the topic of water into many themes: the human body, peace, language, wellness. These were never Matts' specialist subjects, but has seemingly flowed into them as they are all connected with his specialisms: water and energy. Matt was recently nominated as one of country's top evolutionaries for the TV show Evolutionaries (http://source.tv/matt-thornton/). He featured in a series of talks in London: SuperCharge your Life with the 10 Commandments of Health, hosted by Skip Archimedes. The second 'commandment' is water (although Matt feels water is number 1 as without which nothing else exists). With 15 minutes to talk to a mainstream audience interested in health: not a lot to make an impact but the message sank in having them blessing water within 15 minutes. In the audience was Rachel Elnaugh, of the first Dragons Den series. She interviewed Matt afterwards and subsequently along with 144 others in the country gave him a nomination for one of the Evolutionaries. All of a sudden people wanted to hear what he had to say, although Matt says it's the water that speaks.
Matt is nothing short of ambitious and shares with me his future visions:
~ The Emoto Peace Project, which aims to teach children (although all of us are children!) the true power of water and effects of thoughts and prayers. It inspires children to understand the sacred nature of water, be closer to water nature. This is Emotos' vision and Matt honours him as close as possible. He goes into schools and is creating external curriculum based on yoga, chi gong, physics and maths. This will be free online and the children get a book ''Messages From Water'' for free. He asks for contributions to fund this. So far the project has reached 500,000 people. Only 750 million to go so there is work to be done!
~ The New Water Generation is what the talk was last night, which encompasses all aspects of water from science to the more esoteric mystical aspect. Each talk is different. These talks can reach anyone. There are 2 aspects of this movement: Restoration and Reconnection.
~ Matt is also writing a book, looking at the consciousness of London through its water quality. This can be done in any city but London being a water city and one where the municipal quality is suspect. A team of them will look at the springs: hundreds, possibly thousands of them, many underneath churches in London. The team will sample water from an Emoto point of view, looking at the Hado of London's natural spring water compared to its' municipal water. The book 'The Hado of London', will include art and poetry. To do this Matt is looking to crowd funding, as it is expensive to create the photos: around 350 - 500 euros for 1 photo to be precise, with no guarantee it will even come out right! Matt says ''the water is asking us to do this.''
~ One of Matts' dreams is to go on 'Water Odysseys': adventures to the great waters of the world, and take people there on expeditions. The journey is to get to that final point for a ceremony, but getting people to a level of understanding before they get there. Learning about the water, energy flow perhaps through Chi Gong, Tai Chi, Yoga (Matt teaches all 3) on the way, with each day talking and experiencing the different aspects of water and energy: light, sound, minerals, Hado, the vortex. Arriving at the destination to coincide with cosmic events to go wild swimming, fully re connecting with the water, and do the ceremony, with sound, voice, chants and prayers. The first of these is looking to be an expedition to high altitude lakes of Tibet, the sacred lakes that feeds the great rivers: the Hindus, Ganges, Yellow, Mekong. Looking at deeper aspects of pollution by the Chinese, in doing so creating the movement (which is already happening in many different areas of the world) to get people reconnected back to water, with the universal Emoto water ceremonies (that we did last night) alongside the indigenous ceremonies local to those areas.
~ Matt aims to create a platform where people can see everything in one place. There are many people doing their little bit but he is trying to put it all together and make it accessible. When we have mass education, only then will everyone listen. We need to plant the seed and watch it grow: and it may not happen in our lifetime.
But it will happen?
Matt knows the pattern can be broken: ''we need to know and admit where we are, then let go and forgive ourselves, then learn how not to get there in the first place.'' Matt believes wholeheartedly that this could well happen within the next generation, as was the belief and certainty of Emoto in reaching the children as they're closer to their water nature. The talks Emoto did and what Matt is now conducting either from a pure Emoto talk or New Water Generation Talk shows time and time again. ''The children are phenomenal'' he says. Talking in front of a number of audiences, he sees that around 10% of the audience really understand the more abstract things: of note are those around 21-22 year olds, coming up to him afterwards saying ''I feel like I've always known that and had been waiting for someone to say that.'' These are the real change-makers who can create the really big movements.
I have heard many times recently that people say the levels of human consciousness are increasing, so I ask Matt whether he can see this happening. He tells me what Dr David Hawkins has discovered: that in the last 5-10 years the consciousness in the USA has actually decreased. But the power is in the energy behind the consciousness: a few highly conscious people can hold up thousands. A master such as Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed - they hold up the whole of humanity.
A lot of the next generation are awakening, but there is also that possibility they will stay asleep, whether due to the consciousness of the media that is not life-supporting and is fear based or Social media but that could change or go either way as it creates a lot of noise. Mankind is very sensitive to noise and distorts our perception of the Truth. There is more 'noise' now than ever before, but overall the consciousness of humanity is rising. In certain communities, certain bastions of power wishing to hold onto it are doing what they can to cling on and hold the consciousness of the many down. It can not be a good thing that these underlying feelings behind it all have now come to light, thanks to events such as Brexit and Trump, it now allows us to look at ourselves, and begin the process.
Emoto says ''to love oneself is to love all of existence''.
We talk a lot about consciousness but what about the quality or the level of consciousness. Perhaps at a certain level of consciousness, anything that harms our planet or people will cease to exist, because we will know that it only harms ourselves.
